Default Good old cash vs MTT?

Hi all,

Sorry if this is the once a week topic in the forum, but I'll ask it anyway. I choose to post here because I'm playing cash at the moment, and you guys (I imagine) would be mainly MTT, so you're in a position to persuade me.

I'm a regular at the 10nl / 25nl tables. I can say with reasonable confidence that I can be a winning player at 10nl, and at this stage, I think I'm a winner at 25nl. Bankroll is around $300 (I know under rolled for 25nl) but I was higher before and took a hit from signing up for card runners.

I'm at a crossroads trying to decide if I should take up playing MTT's, or stick with griding out cash games.

Pro's and Con's I can see as follows.

Cash games -
Pros -
* Flexibility, I can get up whenever I want
* Availability, I can sit down and play in any game almost whenever I want, always running
* Less? Variance. Seems like I've got more guaranteed winnings grinding it out then a streak of loosing in MTT's.
Cons -
* Although there isn't much risk (see variance) not much reward either, no big 'payday' available

MTT -
Pro's -
*Paydays, that first place seems oh so juicy, and one MTT win could equal months of grinding cash.

Con's -
*Once you start you're locked in for a few hours, and possibly with no return
*Variance, seems like you're putting those hours of work up on a coin flip sometimes.

Is the big payday achievable, or am I chasing a pipe dream?

P.s. I've much around in MTT's, one win, few final tables, in money a fair amount of the time, but no official stats, so probably loosing more then what my brain remembers (selective memory).
