6/12 live -- 44
Guy behind me is table talking to me -- a fairly decent, I think maybe just slighty too lose, and slightly too passive, but definitely has a decent range preflop and can make folds.
Button is new, didn't buy in very deep. I apologize if this not so coherent -- im under teh influence a bit tonight and I just wanted to post before I forget. I get red 44 somewhere in later position. Theres 1 limper, some folds, I limp, guy behind me limps, button goes 2, blinds call. 6 to flop for 12: 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] SB check, BB check, limper 1 check, I check, guy behind bets, button raises, everyone folds to me, I call, guy behind calls. 3 to the turn for 9: 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I check, guy behind checks, button bets, I raise, guy behind folds, button calls. 2 to the river for 11: 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I bet, Comments on streets appreciated, especially about flop and river play. Maybe more standard than I think. |

Re: 6/12 live -- 44
This one's really annoying. Unless he's insane I can't imagine any worse hands raising much. He has 9x, 8x.
Ace High and high PP may find a call though, so I think B/F should be fairly effective. |

Re: 6/12 live -- 44
I think this is much more often AA-QQ than 9x or 8x. B/f for sure.

Re: 6/12 live -- 44
I assume you don't bet the flop because you don't want BTN to auto-raise and face the others w/ 2?
But I think that's a pretty bad reason for not betting the flop here. It would be a DISASTER for the flop to get checked through, and you didn't say anything about a read on BTN that say's he will always bet in this spot. Therefore, you should bet. Also, there are 6 players in this hand and this pot is already big. Even if BTN raises, this board is coordinated enough that you will typically get 1 or 2 others to stay on this flop. I would bet this flop 110% of the time. As played, why the hell did you not 3-bet the flop? Why the hell would you think about doing anything on the river than b/c. I think anyone telling you to fold this river to 1BB is insane. |

It goes: I bet, BTN raises, ...now if 2 or more players call this raise, then I refrain from 3-towning it in order to set up a sick value c/r on a non-spade turn. Did that not cross your mind? If only like 1 player calls BTN's raise, I think I go ahead and 3-town the flop. |

I like your style. Stay discreet and go with the flow. Agree, bet river and show down.

Re: 6/12 live -- 44
Thanks, although I know for a fact that I don't play half as good as OP.
I just rarely slowplay *especially* when I'm playing live, and I certainly do not think this is a flop to slow play. |

As played, why the hell did you not 3-bet the flop? [/ QUOTE ] Because, first, guy behind might fold if faced with 3 cold. Second, if he doesn't fold now, he'll likely just c/call our turn bet. By waiting for the turn, we're expecting to gain another SB from raising then. |
