It doesnt matter other than your own mental state, your ev is going to be the same and you should be able to look at the structure and have a good idea how to play it, I would kill myself playing 1 at a time cause it would take forever from step 1 and 1 tabling in general is lol, but its w/e your comfortable with.

edit: What I suggest NOT doing is multitabling 16 tables of all 5 different buyins, 1 structure mistake can potentially **** you bad and there are slight differences in each structure.

really? Doesn't seem to make a difference to me.
Maybe even the other way for me.

Playing a bunch of Step 6's in a row after earning all those tickets and then coming up empty could really suck. Of course, if you played the 6A's then you're not going to come up as empty even if you don't win the package.

i think having like 9 step 6s may be a bit much but i agree that i want to have like 2 or 3 step 2, step 3, step 4 etc before i play them..that way i don't worry so much about bad beats bubbling yada yada yada

but i dont multiple the steps, besides step 1s

My plan is if I get a step 6 to play 6a first and hopefully win a seat or some cash. If I get a 2nd then I will play the 2 table for a seat.

1 table at a time is so that I can stick it in the corner while I'm 6-tabling the cash-games or whatever.
I agree that mixing the different levels is a bad idea because of the confusion you would have remembering the different payout structures. But playing just one while also playing cash-games doesn't seem to mess me up so much.

BTW - Made it all the way to Step 3 today. Woo-hoo!!
Then I lost so I'm back at Step 1. Bleh.

My strategy is to always have a back-up for the one you play.

Right now I have a step 4 and a step 3. I won't play the step 3 till I have a back-up step 3 if I don't advance. I won't play the step 4 till I get another 4, etc. etc.

[/ QUOTE ]

I kind of like this idea.

But shouldn't you have a step 1 and step 2 ticket with this strategy? You only play a certain level once you have 2 tickets. If you advance, you leave one ticket behind and so on. So right before you play your step 6, you should have 2 step 6 ticket and one ticket for step 1-5.

Ok so I accidentally registered into an APPT step instead of PCA. Am I stuck now? Either win a seat to Macau or busto? I can't really make it to either APPT so should I be emailing Stars to try and get it changed for something else or should I just try and win and pocket the cash part of the prize?

Got up to step 5 from Step 1's/2's I played last night, got 7th on the tightest/best table I've been a part of.. so depressing to have a Step 6 in your rear view mirror and then have to start all over again.
