I have a lot more respect for Michigan after this game than before. I think they are the #2 team in the nation. But please no BCS rematch. They had their shot. I rematch would make that game meaningless.

While I think they're #2, with only 12 games played there's no way to know if they really are better than USC/Florida/Arkansas.

[/ QUOTE ]

Maybe, but you can't say that you wouldn't enjoying watching four more quarters of Michigan and osu football! Personally I think USC is the only other team that can play with osu and honestly think in Glendale either Michigan or USC could beat osu and the spread won't be greater than 3.

re: the grass on the field.

Both teams played on the same field. This is a moot point.

However, I will say the one thing that made slightly smile was seeing the osu students tearing up $600,000 worth of tuff three weeks after it was put down.

[/ QUOTE ]

One of my roommates went back to where his friends were tailgating after the game and said there were some people next to them with huge chunks of turf.

I said it seemed like Michigan was slipping more. Nowhere was I using it as a justification, they just seemed to fall at the most inopportune times.

Where did I or anything suggest I was replying to you? My post is even a "RE:" to myself. I was just simply making a statement.

How far things have come in the OSU - UM rivalry where Michigan fans are excited about coming close to beating Ohio State and make countless excuses about why they lost the game. Its pretty funny to watch anyone with an association to Michigan Football grovel just to get an another chance at the best team in the country but the bottom line is this the best team without their best effort in the second half won the game. It was a good game but the legend that is Woody Hayes, Jim Tressel and Troy Smith > Bo Schembechler, Lloyd Carr and Chad Henne. To all the Michigan fans on this board please keep the excuses coming it is good humor.

I didn't think Ohio State necessarily looked better than Michigan. It seemed like this game was one personal foul away from being tied or Michigan taking it.

[/ QUOTE ]

I honestly think UM fans think they were winning before the personal foul call.

I said this in the other thread but...

talking about controversial penalties UM got quite a few to go there way on big plays...roughing the center WTF.. and the refs missed a huge facemask on Troy Smith.

UM needed two botched snaps for the game to even be close.

[/ QUOTE ]

Are mistakes not part of the game? I mean, I could count up all of Michigan's mistakes and then say "see, Ohio St got all of those mistakes from Michigan and still only won by 3 AT HOME!!" but whats the point of that?

[/ QUOTE ]

Forced mistakes are one thing, but a snap bouncing off a face mask isn't something attributable to the opposition and isn't likely to be repeated in a rematch.
