If we bet big on the flop and call a shove, we're going to have 30% equity usually, which is not great.

Checking lets villain bluff the flop with worse. If villain bets and you call, I'd check on any turn. It doesn't make your decisions any easier, but bet/calling flop is -EV unless villain is a huge bluff-tard.

If you check/call, seems like 1/3 of your stack is in the middle and you are still screwed on a turn blank.

Where do you stand on flop c/r? You'd fold out AQ for sure, maybe AK on a good day. Maybe get a bet out of TTh,99h and a few others. You might get a few bad calls out of QQh. Yes? No?
