Re: Your poker bankroll story
I won a private freeroll on Absolute Poker and used that as my starting bankroll.
Basically, I have invested zero money into my bankroll. Everything is profit. |

Re: Your poker bankroll story
started playing when i was 15, got hooked started playing home games and online at 16. First time i play online i turn 50 into 1200 playing limit. lose it all but 500 playing 20/40. put the 500 on a 3 team parlay and lost that. just after i turn 17 i "won" 36,000 playing pool, so i max out my cc and put it all online, lose that playing over my head. well a week before im supposed to get paid (guy was a friend of mine and owned the local pool hall which i used to work at), he ends up dying in a motorcycle accident. so i had to grind it out at a casino an hour a way for 300 a day playing 3/6 (there is one close to me but it has pretty good security and my fake id wouldnt work there). end up getting caught there and paying a ticket plus 550 for winning a tournament there. now i play in 1 or 2 sidegames. all the money i win live goes online. online money goes bye bye. im 18 now and my cc is almost paid off.

Re: Your poker bankroll story
Deposited $60 a month ago. I'm down about $30 on 10NL FR. Up about $40 on 10NL 6 max. Bankroll of $115 after bonuses.
Right now I'm working on learning the game and teaching myself discipline of ABC poker. I've only played about 6k hands so far. I'm reading HOH right now and have been getting what I can from these forums. I've also read TOP. Hopefully I'll find out that I can be a winning player if I can remain disciplined. |

Re: Your poker bankroll story
Lol, this thread is pretty good so far.
Well here goes mine: Friend who taught me the basics initially dumped 1k into my account and said grind lowest level of 6max (10nl), move up when you have 20 buy-ins at the next level, move down when you have less than 15. I lost $200 before making 20-buy-ins in a weekend at the first limit. Spent 3 weeks at each limit "conquering" it (so to speak) until 100nl which raped me with variance. While moving back and forth betw 50nl and 100nl I made a small fortune in rake/bonuses. Had 145 buy-ins at 50nl the final time I moved up to 100nl. Oh, also gave my friend back his 1k long before that. Moved up to 200nl 3 months ago (only 2-tabling it) and been running hotter than the sun. I think all up over last 18 months since I started playing, I am up maybe 45-50k-ish with about 20k of that in the last 3 months. Here's a hand today I played like a ghey and still raped villain (don't forget to read the quote at the end of the post): http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...D=#Post11583716 Here's a nice way to pick up $400 http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...=1#Post11583785 Here's a shamless brag about how rich I am: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...=1#Post11583960 |

Re: Your poker bankroll story
I used to scam those "Free $50 from Party" things. After failing like 10 times I finally ran one up to like 500 then lost it all and stopped. Then discovered bonus whoring and started with $100. Havent looked back since.
