Default What are the rules for taking pictures at an MLB game?

Anyone know exactly when you can use your camera at a game? The Turner Field rules state cameras for personal use are OK, but that gameplay footage is prohibited without written consent etc.

Any idea where the line is drawn? Is batting practice OK? I'd think so. What about warmups between innings?

Anyone have experience with this?

I've never seen anyone get in trouble for any sort of photography.

I think video cameras and "professional" photography aren't ok, but anything you take with a personal still camera is fine.

That said, I doubt you wouldn't be allowed to bring a dinky camcorder inside. Some baseball teams search bags on your way in, but if they stop you just leave the camera in your car.

Most places have a certain rule, like the lens can't be more than X inches long. I'd check out the stadium's rules.

Thanks for the replies. All I plan on bringing is a little digital camera, like 7 MP with 3x zoom. I don't think it could be construed as a professional camera. I just didn't know if I'd run into problems snapping pics/vid during gameplay.

WTF?
Problems snapping pics with a little camera during game-play?

Everytime Pujols or Jeter or A-Rod bats there are about a zillion flash-bulbs going off all over the stadium.

I had a friend with a video camera in San Diego one time and they told him could only film in between innings since MLB sells the rights to the game.

This won't be a problem.

Seriously, watch Sportscenter the next time they show Bonds at bat. Millions of bulbs flashing.

You're not going to have any problem bringing that camera in. They will only stop you if you have a really big lens. Even then, just go to another entrance until you find someone who won't check as thoroughly.
