Default AA 300 bb deep .5/1

My friend was playing stars .5/1 6max and asked me about this hand.
Hero opens AA UTG +1 to 4
button who has us covered calls.
Flop is 279 with two diamonds.
Hero leads for 7
Button min raises to 14.

Whats heros plan for the hand?

Assume button is unknown and hero is 18/14 good reg.

I suggested exercising pot control by just calling the flop. I figured you could c/c c/c any non diamond turns/rivers or possibly lead the turn and fold to a raise.

He played the hand by making it 48 to go on the flop.

Whats your plan?

ugh 3-betting is really bad this deep. I know everyone's gonna say "omg he could have a FD" but who cares, I can acknowledge he has a FD a lot and still practice pot control here.

3 betting flop seems really bad.

Umm, i'm not sure if i like getting all in 300bb deep ASAP. I 3bet to protect my hand. If he shoves over our flop 3bet, i prob fold. Getting all in is totally dependent on future streets, not on the flop.

keyser is right. raising the flop with this strong a hand means we're happy playing a 600bb pot

wayyy back when I was a full ring nit (and so were you terp!) I'd take this line with AA when getting raised on flops like this and it worked really well. Generally bet/folding turn here, since he usually just calls with all his draws but raises sets.

It's not like 3betting the flop here is committing us to the pot. I don't see why we WOULDN'T 3bet. Just because we are deep doesnt mean we have to play scared.
