I'm still playing in the micros (max $20nl), so keep this in mind before relying too heavily on my advice. I'm also currently playing on one of CP's skins, Sportsbook.

If I had $10k and the skills for $800NL, I would go bonus-whoring at Cake Poker first. They have a 100% up to $500 initial deposit bonus that you should be able to clear well within the first two months (although you get 3 months to do it). If you don't like the site after you've cleared the bonus, you can just move over to PStars.

General Info: The latest software update has greatly improved the client-side interface. You will still see a bit of server-side freezes, but I've never been disconnected because of them.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Poker Tracker and PA HUD will not work with CP. The CP hand histories just lack too much information to be compatible with it. Since this is actually one of CP's bullet-points in their advertising, the chance of this changing in the future is almost nil.

The play is so awful at Cake that a hud isn't necessary at least up to 100NL. I haven't had disconnection issues lately, and although the software lags occasionally, the soft games are worth it. PM if you wanna know more.

micros advice...a 500 dollar bonus should take 2-3 days at most if youre playing 400NL.

I would start with 2K or so and play 100NL until you get things figured out.(internet,multi tabling,poker tracker,HUDS)

You will find out quickly enough if you belong at 400NL at a fraction of the risk.
