QQ vs a nit
Villain here is 15/10/5.1 over 500 hands, a nitty reg, and I am an unknown to villain.
I assume that he is positionally aware and that his 3-betting range vs a UTG raiser is specifically AK and JJ+. I was going to probably call one street on a dry board, but on this flop I am only ahead of AK. So is c/f ok? Anyone like donking the flop here for $80 instead of checking? That would presumably fold out AK and if he calls/raises I know my hand is no good. 2/4 NL, 6 players Stacks: CO ($394.00 in chips) BTN ($896.00 in chips) SB ($396.00 in chips) BB ($592.48 in chips) Hero (UTG) ($443.30 in chips) MP ($394.00 in chips) Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Hero raises to $14, 1 fold, CO raises to $54, 3 folds, Hero calls $54 Flop ($114): J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero checks, CO bets $94, Hero folds |

Re: QQ vs a nit
I think you played this well. I don't think donking gains you much, because I think he will check behind with AK a lot anyway

I don't understand why you call preflop if you fold flops where you get an overpair. I call flop and see what happens on turn, probably fold.

Re: QQ vs a nit
I like this if he is incredibly straightforward postflop and rarely c-bets in 3-bet pots, but most nits arent THAT nitty. I think I call the flop and dump it on the turn. It feels wrong to call pf and then dump it on a low flop for one bet.

[/ QUOTE ] I'm not happy about doing it but this is the worst non-A/K flop I could have seen. I don't think he 3-bets TT here but along with JJ it is possible. Also, I believe most nitty/straightforward players would tend to check behind with AK on this flop vs a player who has called their 3-bet OOP because they know it is quite likely to have given me a set or overpair and they can expect a call or raise. |
