From a command prompt, type

ping www.youtube.com

and post the results.

In the meantime, there's always www.xtube.com

Not sure why you're hiding the numbers, that's kind of the whole point. Is it 208.65.153.241?

Open up the HOSTS file (search for 'hosts' and open it with notepad), see if there are any lines in there blocking YouTube. If so, delete them all.

kyleb,

i could only find 2 sample versions of the "Hosts" file --

"# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol."

i made sure that my search was checking hidden/system folders as well. is there a specific place i can find this file?
