Default I have a problem folding sets--44 flop fold

Recently I was playing 3/6 and I had 33, raised, a tag IP called, and a fish called. The flop came 8 9 3 r and the fish donked a good portion of his stack, I raised to 240, the tag pushed, and the fish called. I put the tag on 88 or 99, couldn't see why he'd push a dry draw. I folded, and he had KK.

Lately, I've been seeing that I fold too much in general, but I think I'm not bad overall.

Villain in this hand is 18/12 tight, solid tag frankubrik or something like that. He is 2.2 and multitables with me a lot. My impression of him is not that he gambles a lot, but that he plays really solid.

Thoughts on the fold? My flop raise was actually purposefully so that I could ascertain whether I was beat. Against most guys, I just push the flop initially.

M,

Like we discussed before, you can't see him here w/ a hand we beat except for OESD/FD. Looks like the nuts, overset, or we're racing. However, this is me responding w/o the greatest feel for this player, how your table was playing, how you were playing, etc etc.

OK, but this guy's an 18/12

Point: his hand range for this kind of flop is pretty narrow. His last rr shows that he wants it ai. If we aren't folding, I think we're pushing.

The argument that folding a set, ever, is a small leak at best, is of course valid. But I still want to play the best poker I can.

For anyone that puts him on a hand we beat, I don't see how. For AhQh, IMO, he'd c/r all in, or c/r big. That's how you get the most FE and value. The bet/3-bet play is for sets and nut straights. I really think that's key here.
