Card protectors

I use my tallywhacker to protect my cards. Nine inches goes a long way.

The real problem is only the gay guys are impressed.

Used a chip i pocketed from the wsop for a while, back to just using a chip from my stack now.

How do you know I play at the Borgata?

I use an old pog slammer (anybody who grew up in the mid 90s knows what I'm talking about) that says "OJ IN THE SLAMMER" on it and has a picture of O.J. Simpson behind bars. It's so balla. I usually don't bother with a protector unless I'm in the 1 or 10 seat though.

You could get a piece of oosik. I've seen it cut and polished and used for pocket, hunting and kitchen knives. When cut and polished it looks great, and only someone familiar with it would know what you had.

I've only seen it in a fossilized state, several hundred years old. When cut and polished it looks like petrified wood, which would also make an interesting card protector, perfect for us old fossils who prefer limit Omaha 8/B.

there was some old dude at canterbury a couple weeks ago who had a big gold ring with a flat part on it on his pinky and every single hand that he played he would take it off and put it on his cards, and then pick it up and put it back on his finger at the conclusion of the hand. Hilarious.

Was playing at TI a few weeks ago and sitting in seat 4, I thankfully had capped my cards as I always do. I wayward muck found a players card on top of mine...

It really doesn't matter if a card protector is heavy or not, unless it's a matter of personal preference. In the AC regulations at least, if you have a chip on your cards, or they are otherwise "protected" they'll attempt to retrieve your hand from any accidental fouling.
That being said, I used to use a small blown glass elephant that was really light until the trunk snapped off. It ended up getting named after a dealer at the Trop. Now I just use a chip or my hands, mostly my hands because I'm lazy.
