Thanks Chris and Dave.

What is your rule of thumb for opening/raising pf?

When opening pf is 4xbb + 1bb for every limper too light?

When raising pf should I bet pot + 3 or 4 times the raise or something like that? This is the part am really not sure about (post flop I know how to pot it, but pf poting is not enough and is even less than I was betting).

[/ QUOTE ]

i usually raise 2x pot pf.

Default 200NL AK c/r on river

villain is a reg, it seems (not totally sure, I just moved to this level). His stats are 23/20/4.5. Thoughts on all streets? I know flop and turn are non-standard, but I'm mostly wondering about river.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (5 handed) Poker Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Hero ($242)
Button ($206.40)
SB ($204)
BB ($204.35)
UTG ($191)

Preflop: Hero is MP with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG raises to $8, Hero raises to $27, 3 folds, UTG calls $19.

Flop: ($57) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks.

Turn: ($57) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks.

River: ($57) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $50, UTG raises to $164

i'd probably call. i really can't see him waiting 3 streets to make a move with a range you're behind

Jshuttlessworth,
Who is villain? This is sort of weird bc villain really shouldn't be cr bluffing here bc your hand looks a lot like tt or something just trying to check it down. I honestly think this is either jj/qq (although I would expect those hand to bet the river) or some other marginal pair like 99 or kq that villain was trying to check down but realized it was no good when you bet the river. Maybe call but bc I think the latter is more likely than the former given the action leading up to the river but I wouldn't be too happy about it bc people rarely cr bluff the river.

hey djj,
thanks for the response. villain was "kapie123" on stars. I agree with everything you said in your post. My first instinct was to call, but it's so often the case that river CR = the nuts like always. But I thought that any real hand would have to throw out at least a river bet trying to get a crying call from whatever I had (99/TT or something)

BB is a decent regular. 23/18/3/3.1 over 200 hands. I've seen him 3-bet a flop and fold to a push against someone else.

UTG folds, Hero raises to $6, 2 folds, BB calls.
