Default PStars - Travel Gift Certificate (Anyone Used This?)

Does anyone have any experience with the Travel Gift Certificates in the Pokerstar's VIP Store?

Yes, I got the $2500 certificate and gave it as a gift to family. Both Stars and the travel agency were easy to deal with and professional, the travel agencies' prices were reasonable.

If you are a supernova, screw the GCs and use concierge service for your trip.

I just wanna use it to fly, i don't need the other stuff. but i don't think you can do what with the travel certificates.... sounds like its only done through a travel agency and they'll want to book other stuff do besides just a flight.

depends on the cost of the flight I think.

I used $2k in travel-cards to book 2 flights to and back from South America. Nothing else included in the package. Not even hotel.

However, it does sound like the concierge service might be the better way to go (although I'm not sure if the exchange-rate for your points will be as good).

I believe they will book a flight-only for you even if the cost is less than $3k.

FWIW - I have not used the concierge service yet. For awhile I thought it had to be a $3k+ purchase or something and I didn't have any need for that.
But I found out in a different thread that this evidently isn't the case. You can get an item for less than $3k through concierge I believe.
I'm still not sure though.

They really don't go into a whole lot of detail as to how the concierge thing works.

I would suggest you not use gc if able to use conciere service. I bought 3 tickets to Fla for fam and tickets were around 150 more than i could get online, also they couldn't get me a rental car in Fla for some dumb reason. One more thing since I could'nt get car and tickets were more than I thought I lost the last 150-200 on card beacause you have to use on 1 trip and couldn't save for another.
1k gc= around 700 in plane tickets

billb - that definitely sucks and the bit about having to use the whole card in one shot can definitely be an issue.

On this one though I would have contacted Stars support and explained the situation.
Explain that you wouldn't have gotten the $1k gift-card if they had told you ahead of time that they couldn't get you a rental-car.
Mention that you are pretty unsatisfied with the service and that you got badly over-charged for your trip.

They might refund your FPP's or cash or something.
They might also just say, "sorry, that's the risk you take" but I would definitely take a shot on this one.

Yeah emailed my displeasure and tried seeing if I could get my fpps back for it and stars only suggestion was to contact eplatnium and see if they would allow me to sell it.
Didn't have the time for the simple reason my trip had to get booked.

perhaps e-mail or PM scottyy at Stars who is top dog in the VIP club I believe.

Maybe he can somehow contact e-platinum and get a $300 refund for you.

I'm guessing he won't be able to pull it off but you never know.

Seriously, people shouldn't be stuck having to spend $1k when their trip only cost $700.
they do actually want people to use these travel-cards, don't they?
