Default ($16) 99 vs. huge preflop overbet

No reads except the fact that he's down to 900 real early.

Unless you have a read that he's tilting you should be flipping at best. Why do it so early?

go back and see how he lost 1/3 of his stack, he is most likely tilting and pushing super wide here making me want to call/push

wow AK? i mean i wouldn't have limped any of those hands so i dont know if it even matters, but i'd much rather have 99 than AK. the reason i called is because i beat all underpairs, and it's tough for me to see him shove with overpairs. it's a limped pot. (edit: though i suppose 2 high cards is a good deal of his range too, so maybe 99 and AK are close)

and i don't like this too early crap. fine i don't make high variance plays early like 3-betting AQ and [censored], but i think it's very possible that limping for 20 then calling off 900 is the best play here.

id look at how he lost his chips and decide based on that. 99 is certainly close to a call for me here when hes spewing.

Because if he's playing continuously, it's good for his hourly rate.

If you believe he's tilting, this is an easy call for me, as you're well ahead of his range. Idiots at the 16s will be autopushing low pairs and worse when they've decided they want to double up quick or be done.

ugh

i'm not so convinced. but i have reasons for making the play i made, and i don't think that AK is an easy call and 99 an easy fold. i think they're very close.
