Just to reiterate, unless you have any special reads, bet/calling the flop has to be a much much much much better line. As played I think the river is a call anyway.

I have a hard time thinking of a hand that checks the flop that plays this way other than AQ. I doubt he checks the flop with AA/KK, and I can't see him value shoving a T, and given description if villain I think he likely bets a FD on the flop.
