i think it just depends on your playstyle and how you stack up against your opponents. there are a lot of very good players that have a lot of very different approaches, so i don't think there is really a correct answer set in stone.

The more connected the board the more likely i am to pot it.

i would vary 2/3 - 3/4, I think betting pot is bad unless you have a villain thats a huge station and you've actually got a good hand.
