Default T9 Top Two on a T98!! Action!

Live 2/5

Table is great.

[Asian guy bets out with any top pair type hand he is loose and bad. Frenchy thinks he’s on WPT, he covers his face with a hoody!! He is a bit loose since getting his bigstack, his play is fairly ABC. The banana is exactly that, a predictable banane.]

Stacks: Hero has $590, Asian guy has $400, Frenchy has $1780 and the banana has $170

Hero has Th9s in MP

1 fold, 2 calls, Hero calls, 2 folds, 4 calls

Flop $35 (7) Tc 9c 8s
Checked to Asian guy who bets $20, Hero raises to $70, Frenchy calls, Banana goes allin for $170, 4 folds, Hero?

[I was really lost here…I knew I was ahead of the banana, I read him for a club draw, and Frenchy could easily only have a J]

I know live play is boring, but fold preflop.

I think you should call and let Frenchy tell you what he has since he's ABC. You often have him beaten, but he's not calling a raise if that's the case. Some people might argue a fold because Frenchy's $70 coldcall indicates some strength, but you have top two which is pretty close to the nuts on this board. Really he could just be thinking about how if you raised like that you will pay him off when his draw hits.

Push a safe turn if Frenchy calls, fold if he pushes overtop the flop. The protected nature of the pot should be keeping both of you from getting too out of line.

this is a sticky spot, but i'm pretty sure the other 2 players are on draws. they would def raise if they had a set on that kinda flop. unless they're dumb lol.

i would probably make it 340 or somethin

If I'm doing that, I may as well push? because I'll only have $200 in reserve.

Is there anyone who advocates smooth calling the initial flop bet? Or are we call happy with the raise/call?
