Default ** Official Brazil v. Croatia thread **

I think it's been a great World Cup so far, the USA stinker notwithstanding. Pre tourney favorites Argentina and Holland have looked strong, and Italy, England, and the hosts have come away with victories. I now feel like I'm sufficiently warmed up to watch the consensus beat team in the world, Brazil.

Croatia is no minnow, and has hopes of advancing to the quarterfinals, so I don't think the game will be a rout. This quote by the Croatia coach, though, makes me believe we could see some goals this afternoon:

"We aren't just looking to counter-attack, we always want to play our own game," said Kranjcar."

I think Croatia are in a lot of trouble here. They cant afford to concede to many.

Look for Ronaldo. Nothing more dangerous than a champion with a big point to prove.

forgive the ignorance, but what does Ronaldo have to prove? he already made a huge comeback from his 'lost' years, scoring 2 goals in the last final vs Germany.

and everyone in spain, portugal, england, france, etc etc . Of course, Socrates would've smoked cigarettes on the pitch if he was allowed, so I don't doubt that Ronaldo will score 4 or 5 goals this WC

no, its not. Croatia is a very strong team. This is not going to be a cakewalk at all. In fact, this has the possibility of being the best group stage match
