Major League Baseball teams have lots of money to spend these days. Revenues are going up faster than salaries.

Soriano's contract, like the Red Sox bid for Matsuzaka, is a sign of things to come in the next few years.

I don't know much about baseball contracts. But can the Cubs just cut him at any point if they feel like it?
