Re: Big draw/wierd turn spot
I c/r'ed. Anyone think it's better then c/c? I don't really, but I guess I was bored.

Re: Big draw/wierd turn spot
With the likely gutshots, a c/c seems best. A c/r is creative but you'll get 3bet more than you'd like. Not to mention a gutshot calling your c/r or risking a hand like Q9 checking it through. A double barrel bluff is much better than a c/r especially since it doesn't look like you have to worry about a villain falsely representing an ace.
Reviewing it a little bit, I think a double barrel bluff is the way to go. It gets those strange Q9 type hands out and folds the KQ, J8 gutshots on the river. On the river you are getting 4-1 to bluff and about 11/39 or so of villains possible hands would he be willing to fold. |

Re: Big draw/wierd turn spot
I dont understand this: are we not betting this strong draw for value, and balance, from the flopp?

I dont understand this: are we not betting this strong draw for value, and balance, from the flopp? Stokken [/ QUOTE ] He raised pf. So, he will bet this flop like 95%+ of the time. Therefore, you go for the c/r because then he'll call with anything and 3bet his better stuff. If you bet, he'll fold/call his crap and raise the stuff that has 50ish percent equity. So do you want 2, 3 or 4 bets or 1, 2 or 3? |

Re: Big draw/wierd turn spot
I dont check raise here for the simple reason that a 3 bet would make me want to puke id much prefer to check call and then donk the river if we hit, who knows if he does have the ace he might even raise on the river for us

Re: Big draw/wierd turn spot
Why would you donk the river? When he bets the turn he either has air or an Ace.

Re: Big draw/wierd turn spot
If i knew my opponent and was confident he would bet then yeah id try a check raise but against an unknown I think its better just to bet it
Fair enough we get more money in the pot if we can check raise when we hit but I think he's gonna check behind just as often as he bets IMO and some of the time he bets he's gonna fold to the raise anyway so I think we might aswell just bet it and hope he raises for us |
