MP3 Tags question
Trying to get some of my cds actually on my ipod.. I have like 30 gigs of music (40 gig ipod) and am using like 200 megs...
The problem I am having is trying to use cddb to look up all the id3 tags for some of the mp3s which have very poor names.... track 1 track 2 etc... Anyone have any idea of an easy way to get this so when I put them on my ipod I have some idea what I am listening to? Looked into musicbrainz but am struggling with it anyone use this maybe? |

Re: MP3 Tags question
I use Tag&Rename, which has a thing where you can search for the album name on amazon.com and then it gets all the info. for that album which you can apply to any set of songs you want. Sounds like this might be what you want.
Or do you not even know the album these tracks are on and need something to identify the actual songs? |

Re: MP3 Tags question
How are they organized now? Do you have them in folders based on artist and album (but with poor individual tracknames)?
There are a few apps out there that will look at your folderstructure to tag your mp3s. |

Also won't iTunes handle the lookup and the tagging if you rip using it? |

Re: MP3 Tags question
yeah but the problem is that I have years of old cds that Have been grabbed and ripped by different people at all times and many have very poor directory names...
I left musicbrainz runnning until my laptop battery died (didnt realize the switch was off) while I went to work and it looks like it its working sort of takes a while and identifies decently... Going to leave it running tom and hopefully get full results. |
