Pizzle, I'm pretty sure the Theory of Poker thread will be coming in "books and publications" today, at least the sign up thread was there and the creator said he'd be staring a new thread for the group . . . I'll be participating.

Stox group will be where and when? I agree we should go slowly.

Ill keep the stox threads going in here. I personally am going through the hand histories at the moment per a recommendation in the original thread. So I dont yet know the breakdown of the book itself other than thumbing through it and so forth. It sounds like it has sections of like 5 pages max? Thats fine with me if thats what every one else wants. The slower teh better imo.

I cannot emphasize how much WITHEG has improved my play.

It is by far the best text I have ever read on hold'em.

Another rather silly and LC question:

Do you guys ever make pure bluffs in lhe? If so then when?

I never do that unless I'm tilting and decide to bluff-raise the turn or whatever.

E.g. 3-4 handed limped pot and checked to me on the flop, I almost never bet it w/air. Leak or correct play?

I've seen some crazy hands in this thread where people get raised/3-bet on the turn, they call and then bluff raise the river and get a fold.

I love hands like this:

This guy is a nit with an aggression factor of 4.

PokerStars 0.50/1.00 Hold'em (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG calls, <font color="#CC3333">MP raises</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, UTG calls, MP calls.

Flop: (9.50 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, UTG calls, <font color="#CC3333">MP raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, UTG folds, MP calls.

Turn: (8.25 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, MP calls.

River: (10.25 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP raises</font>, Hero folds.

I love when they raise this river. He probably has something like KQ right. What makes him think anything has changed now that he has hit trips?

Final Pot: 12.25 BB
