metrics isn't too bad if your class does some applied work, even though studying the theory sucks.

econometrics is awesome

im pretty much done with my BA in econ

depending our your school your econ classes will either be easy or tough as nails

mine were tough as nails but ill never regret the decision to go econ - it has completely changed the way i think and look at the world

My B.S. was in Sociology (jokes aside), and I feel that, augmented with the business administration classes I took, has definitely served me very well in the business world.

I guess my point is, augmented with other more practical business skills, sociology can be very, very useful IMO in relating to people and predicting how groups of people will respond and react to things.

This obviously has real world implications in marketing, advertising, finance, etc etc etc, so I feel (bias coming through) that it can be a worthwhile major and not just a blowoff if used correctly.
