I hated mustard as a kid, and my mom convinced me that the mustard on a McDonalds cheeseburger was really melted cheese...its not. I still won't eat mustard.

My parents used to tell me that if I didn't quiet down the police were going to arrest me, I believed this for a long time

From Sesame Street ("brought to you by the letter Z"), I thought there was a word called brawtayu.

Another one I just thought of. I thought that sex was just putting the penis in the vagina, and then just waiting a few minutes. Luckily I figured this one out before puberty.

This is pretty much what I thought happened...I thought you would lay side-by-side with the chick, put it in, and just hang out for a while. I think this is because my early sex-ed came from one of those "where did I come from?" books which, being geared towards little kids, didn't go into much detail on conception.

I thought that when you put a movie in the VCR, the actors had to be prepared to act out the movie for you each time. I also remember wondering how they did it exactly the same way every time.

I thought this as well. I always wondered why people didn't do that forever. Then I learned the truth, and wondered why people didn't do THAT forever. Then I reached puberty and found out.

That all dogs were male, and all cats were female, and they made babies together.

When I was a child, I watched a lot of football with my family. Whenever my team was behind with like five minutes to go and they started rolling the credits like executive producer etc I would get super pissed. My thinking was they were essentially saying that the game was over and my team had no chance to win. Most human beings would of course realize that the game was ending in five minutes either way and they could give a [censored] who was ahead/behind.
