Easy,,,,Use a Confederate
Easy you use a confederate.
When a friend comes to visit you from out-of-town, have him hit on her at the bar. Then your friend tells her she needs to take a bath, then you rush to her defense and kick this guy out of your bar. Apologize profusely to her for this guy being such a 'jerk'. So your friend is the bad guy, you are the hero that rushes to her defense, and hopefully she gets the message. Oh...and your friend has to tell stinky in a voice loud enough for you to hear but not so loud where she gets embarassed in front of the whole bar. Sales people will tell you it is better to have a customer that is mad at you than to have a customer that you have shamed. You want her to experience a mild amount of shame and anger. If the whole bar hears this exchanged then this magnifies the shame to the point where she may never come back.

I'm imagining you as you see her walk in. You instinctively seek a defensive posture for your nose, but alas smell is omnidirectional. As she walks toward the bar you cling to a glint of hope, that maybe this time she has showered. Then as she hits the bar her odour hits your face and it is all you can do to continue looking in her direction. This all goes completely against natural selection, which taught your ancestors that creatures that smell like death -- be they dead or alive -- are best avoided regardless of how they rate on OOT scale.

She'll probably just think that the friend was being a jerk and by rushing to her defense the OP would perpetuate the idea to her that nothing is wrong. After all, she will probably think to herself that if she really did smell bad, that one of her friends/coworkers/people she sees often would have told her by now. Chances are she can't smell her own stink.
