I just felt like I was beat. Was folding the right thing to do?

1.) Don't post results. They prejudice conversation on the merits of your decision making during the hand. You didn't know what he had while you played, and we shouldn't either.
2.) This move by CO is often a pair plus flush draw, or two pair. He isn't jamming on pocket 2's unless he has a really strange playing style -- so whether it's just a pair, or a big draw, or more, he certainly has SOMETHING. 3.) Since you have the Ac, hands like Ac 4c are not possible for CO, thus you have to think he's got either two pair, an open ended straight flush draw, or maybe a set. I think a set is least likely, since most people will milk that somewhat. 4.) Against any reasonable opponent, I think you can fold. Against a guy known to push draws and generally make aggressive moves, you need to at least think about calling. Stack sizes also swing this closer to a fold, since you and CO are both playing at nearly 200BB. With shorter stacks, you can call a lot more often. 5.) Here's an interesting equity analysis of your hand vs QcJc: http://twodimes.net/h/?z=1611294 pokenum -h ac as - qc jc -- kc tc 4s Holdem Hi: 990 enumerated boards containing 4s Kc Tc cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV As Ac 532 53.74 458 46.26 0 0.00 0.537 Qc Jc 458 46.26 532 53.74 0 0.00 0.463 |

This is a pretty coordinated board, with straight and flush draws.
Also it is likely one of the villains has a strong, second best hand (AK, KQ...). So you should bet more on the flop to a) protect your hand from draws, and b) get maximum value from second best hands. Also your 1/2 pot bet can be seen as weak, inviting a bluff. Which gives us another reason to bet stronger, namely c) get more information about our opponents hands. Bet the size of the pot on the flop. Fold to the all-in (unless you have a read that says CO is a total donkey). |

Call. Bet more on the flop please. [/ QUOTE ] Agree 100%. You need to pot this flop. If he pushes over that, well, it is a somewhat different matter. I still don't think I'm calling, though. |

Thank you guys. I'll remember to bet the pot on the flop next time. I get AA again a few hands later on the same table and I didn't want the same thing to happen so=>
