Default 5NL 6Max: River overbet

Titan Poker Bonwell 0.01/0.02, hand converted by the iPoker Converter at Talking-Poker

As i'm a newbee i do not have any reads on any player just sat down.
I chased the FD and hit it on the river.
My strategy was to check raise him on the river.

Button ($11.78)
SB ($6.24)
BB ($5)
UTG Hero ($3.98)
UTG+1 ($1.96)
CO ($3.10)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with K J
Hero raises to 0.08, 2 folds, Button raises to 0.14, SB calls 0.13, 1 fold, Hero calls 0.06.

Flop (0.44) 2 7 Q
SB checks, Hero checks, Button bets 0.12, SB calls 0.12, Hero calls 0.12.

Turn (0.80) 2
SB checks, Hero checks, Button bets 0.12, SB calls 0.12, Hero calls 0.12.

River (1.16) A
SB checks, Hero checks, Button bets 6, 1 fold, Hero ??

Did button bet 6$ on the river?
If yes, where is the question?
no brainer call...

your strategy to check raise him will work here very often, but i dont think that u lose value when you bet the river.

I would bet on every street, but i see no problems to play the hand this way at this level.

the only two hands that scare you here AA and QQ because of the preflop reraise. your strategy was bad. what if he checked behind. always bet this river. at 5NL you could even overbet the pot. if he shoves after that you could lay the hand down. as played call, but again, bad river strategy.
