Default Peter Lau poker room manager in Wheeling, WV

I have talked with the new poker room manager in wheeling, wv. His name is Peter Lau. I have read that he worked at Mohegan Sun when they closed the room and have read some bad things about the way that room was run.

Anyone have any personal experiences(good and bad) that you can share on what to expect?

I can tell you I asked him about his experience and he mentioned he worked at Bicycle and started up Foxwoods. From my readings he was only a dealer/floor at Foxwoods. He never mentioned MS. Interesting since he was the manager there.

Peter was the manager at the Mohegan Sun. I always enjoyed that room more than FW. I remember Peter in a positive light. He was always visible, always open to player suggestions. He would promote any game, whether it be 100-200 h.o.e, or 3-6 pineapple. Thats right, we occasionally had a pineapple game running, and Peter would get on the microphone and do his best to attract new players. Fun Times.

Thanks for this. Very cool about pineapple. I love playing that in my home game.

Looking for other comments from those that played at Mohegan Sun.

Anybody know if they will be spreading 7-stud 8 or better?

I know they'll have 7-stud and Omaha, as well as the standard bazillion holdem tables.

TT - Yeah, we are excited! This Ohio/WV/PA area has been just about the most underserved poker market in the US - this is a huge breakthrough!

Peter is a great guy. He got dumped with the rest of the room by Mohegan, but he was never implicated in any of the stuff that was going on.

Very friendly, very happy to spread just about anything

This is good to hear. I grew up near Wheeling and my parents still live near there and I plan on getting some time in this poker room. Mountaineer is closer to where I live now, but doesn't have the built-in (free) babysitter service.

http://www.wheelingisland.com

According to the front page, this Friday.

I was also sent an email announcement, 10am they open. If you are a memeber of their Players club and get 4 Jacks or better, you win $2500. Not sure if that is just Friday, until the first qualifing hand is dealt or what, but that is in the email.

I have heard nothing but Friday as the start date. I will be there tomorrow night around 7ish. For all of you 2+2'ers I will be wearing a blue wheeling poker club tshirt over a mustard thermal. Give me a shout out! ;-)

I most likely will be playing 3-6 limit but that may change depending on the crowd and the games spread.
