Does adsense work for forums?

Can you run a forum and make money with adsense? What does it take to run a forum? Just wondering.

You can make money with adsense on forums. However the % of your users who click ads will be very small. You'll have a high percentage of repeat traffic for your forum site if its successful, and repeat traffic don't click on google ads very much. To make more money with forums, it helps to have advertisers pay per impression rather than per click. Unfortunately most advertisers know that forum impressions are worth less than regular traffic.

That would be really annoying... and anyone spending any time on a forum like that would be very likely to turn on ad blocking [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

I've only seen it after the first post, still annoying but not as bad as more than once would be.
