Default How to Combat a 32/26 LAG???

I have to say that I look forward to playing a 28/5 player often, as I can easily put him on a hand and outplay him as needed...
However, the consumate 32/26/2.5 smart LAG player tends to be the most difficult to play against.... Just for reference, I tend to run at 18/13... I do apologize if this is the wrong forum, but the people that frequent this forum the most is who I want the advice from....
Preflop should I be obviously reraising him light when I know he's stealing? Should I tighten up preflop, make him pay with my premium hands?
Postflop, what is the best way to play? Try to win big pots only with big hands, or at least have position on him when I have a marginal hands? I know there are a ton of examples to go on, as I'm not looking for a quick fix (play this hand this way), but more of a theory to go on how to handle this player....
Obviously, every player is different, but just looking for advice on how to handle a smart LAG... Thanks.....

I am nowhere near the best player here but I run at similar numbers to you so I will try to help. You should three bet them more preflop with Marginal hands because they have such a wider raising range. I also dont think you get as good as of implied odds with for sets when the open a pot becuase most of the time they dont have anything. Just a few thoughts but I am sure you will get more and better advice.

What`s the SN of the player? Some players are pretty well-known so one can tell if he`s a lagtard or smartie

IMO, you shouldn`t 3 bet PF light, if the lag has guts. Let him hang himself, when he 3 barrels. There`s no value in 3-betting light if he is smart. Just be patient and wait for your chance.
If he is a dumm lagtard, all you have to do is to be patient. He`ll give you many opportunities to rob him.

I think patience is the most important thing, playing against lags.

I think posting specific hands can give you some good ideas how to play them.

Obviously the best way to make money, but doesn`t help becoming a better player

Call him down on your draws or middle pair hands. That slows them down when they have weaker holdings against you. Otherwise play your game PF.

3-bet him like a demon and when you do be prepared to play for stacks with some marginal looking hands psotflop.

I am a lag, and i am making most of my money, because people call me down soooo light (look in the december thread; i posted two ridiculous hands on the last pages). I think this advice is not the best.
Just call the lag down with a very good holding and raise the river e.g..
[ Harringtons "Rope a dope" ] This way you show him, that you don`t always raise good hands...and that way i will think twice 3 barreling against you. If you call me down light, be sure i am valuebetting you really hard.

I am not scared of people calling me down light. Most of the time i have it. I make most money of picking up pots where nobody has anything.

That is exactly what the LAG wants.
