what's wrong with thinking your a genius? isn't that what "the secret" and the "power of positive thinking" is all about? keep believing something until it comes true? it's gotta be better than keep telling yourself your average.

he might have to do some average things for a while doesnt mean his is average. i would persnally rather be delusional thinkgin i'm a genius and will accomplish great things one day rather than an average joe with no hope or potential.

Go on craigslist and search for the highest paying gigs that you will be willing to work. </thread>

I don't understand why this thread has so many replies given the fact that you've narrowed the parameters of the search here to basically exclude

1) office work
2) restaurant work
3) selling your car

Now open up an excel spreadsheet and calculate how much you can save using realistic forecasting of expenditures and see how feasible your plans are. You said you wanted 10k saved up before you try your hand back into poker. That seems low but hey you know best. If you want to get back to pokering in a year that means around $1k/mo of savings. Work from there.

We can berate you all day and night saying that your plans are retarded/unworkable/etc but really we're not qualified to say so since for all we know you can live off kraft dinner or instant noodles. Find contacts within the city to do things like laminate flooring installations. Most of us here probably won't know what market rates are in Atlanta for those types of jobs so quit reading the thread and do some basic research.

Sometimes I say 'I don't like that' or 'that doesn't seem like a good idea,' and that is apparently offensive to public opinion.

There's a lot of hating here on 2+2, but your thread is pretty much the same as saying "I'm a fatass, but I don't want to diet or exercise. What are my options?" The only responses you'll get are:

1) LOL fatass
2) Diet & Exercise
3) Stomach Staples/ Surgery

If you rule out 2) & 3) you wind up with a thread full of LOL fatass.

Guys just stop responding to these stupid threads. Anacardo doesn't even want help, he just wants to show how there's no place in modern society for a man of his high intellect and cultural sensibilities so he can keep feeling sorry for himself instead of doing something about it.

Prs to be feeling free to ignoring this.

I'm liking tutoring. I'm assured that working in the casino on a cruise ship is sick as hell but it sounds tough to get; my sister's supposed to put me in touch with some dude who has experience in the industry. I wouldn't really even mind warehouse work for a while, but my salary expectations are probably unrealistic. Lemme look back over this [censored].

Oh. WTF is an autofold team?

Anacardo,

Part of intelligence is getting out there in the world and proving it. It's one thing to be in the spot you are (and I'm in a very similar spot), but really, the life you sound like you're looking to lead, intelligence will merely become alternately a parlor trick and leisure activity. It's one thing to be good at Jeopardy and be able to talk in depth about history and literature - but what is that all really worth?

It's one thing to say, 'I'm too good for job x or job y' - well, you kinda have to get out there and prove it. And again, I'm speaking as someone in damn near the same spot mentally.

I mentioned the Kaplan/Princeton before but theres a lot of smaller companies you can join with established customers bases if you don't want to go it alone. The pros to a smaller company is that you can make up to alot more than the $15-20 I mentioned earlier depending on expreience. My friend used to work for this company http://www.mcelroytutoring.com/
and didn't have any experience to start and got like half of $55 fee or $22. But he also had to spend the time driving to the customers house or library and the gas $ in cali that goes along with that instead of the students coming to you at a Kap/PR place.

einstein was a genius. you're just a guy with a big vocab and no self discipline.

There's not that much difference between us, really; we're the exact same sort of person. Not that that's relevant at all!

lol. that and the part where he comes up with relativity and is one of the most influential thinkers of all time. lots in common!

also, somehow i think al could have beat 5/10 without too much trouble.

Upon reading this thread, and thinking about the many, many conversations we've had about this topic. I can give you no greater advice than "GROW THE [censored] UP".

[/ QUOTE ]

Your ideas of success are, by and large, my ideas of failure. You seem to have a very difficult time dealing with that notion objectively.

[/ QUOTE ]

My point is that once you actually mature, you won't think stupid crap like that anymore. I fully accept that that's how you feel right now. I'm just saying that how you feel is dumb, and hopefully something you'll grow out of, like bed wetting.

[/ QUOTE ]

Maybe you'll wake up in 30 years, shriek Oh God, what have I done? and they'll find you in a heap.

[/ QUOTE ]
(Answering as if this was addressed to me since I agree with Dids in this thread)

1) So in the meantime, sitting around and wasting your entire life complaining is a much better option? lol. Maybe the choices I am making right now will end up being bad ones, but you gotta play to win.

2) Plz wakeup and realize that your "feelings", and other personal biases are all [censored] that you should try and suppress in whatever way possible. I recommend a combination of self-2nd leveling combined with therapy and meds. (No, I don't care that you tried this once and it didn't work. This might explain why you are so terrible at cards. zomg I lost with AA, BAD HAND!!!)

3) beedogs ftw.

CLIFFNOTES TO EVERY ANACARDO THREAD ABOUT HIS LIFE:

Anacardo: Here are some problems I'm having.
People: Here are many good ways to solve them.
Anacardo: Yeah....I'm too cool and a genius, I don't do this stuff. Later suckers, I'm gonna make another post in 2 months about how my life got worse 'cause I never do anything to fix it, so I can keep complaining and putting on this "Anacardo and his civil war sensibilities vs the world thread"

[/ QUOTE ]
I would like to retract all of my responses in this thread and replace them with this ftw.
