I am appalled that nobody has suggested the gay solution yet. Cardo, you could probably take the town by storm showing them what saber action is all about. The fencing mask might even be a plus!

[/ QUOTE ]

I told him he could always hustle handjobs at the bus station. Is that not gay enough for you blarg?

Oh, wait. Remembers colostomy hole comment. Yeah. It might not be.

Let's add now that I'm going to be living in suburban Atlanta; going without a car is, for the time being, entirely out of the question.

[/ QUOTE ]

It would be if you try what I previously suggested.

1. Get your taxi permit
2. Lease a car by the week
3. Work the airport, hotels and bars
4. Make cash monies immediately
5. Read or listen to radio when bored
6. Work at your leisure
7. Meet hot drunk chicks from said bars, listen to them tell you how smart and funny and cute you are
8. Bang them
9. Tell OOT about it
10. Profit, break out of your depression and move on with life

Call Edith, yo.

Drive a Lincoln if a regular cab is too low rent for your taste, yo.

[/ QUOTE ]

How much do you charge for lifecoaching?

[/ QUOTE ]

You know he drives a cab, right? That's why he thinks it's the solution to all my problems? That's the nature of advice. Do what I'm doing, have done or somebody I know is doing - that's the magic answer.

This is kind of an ehhhhh idea in that it's kinda freelancy, which I like, but I'm a terrible city driver and I don't really like the idea of becoming a bit character from a Scorcese picture. I'm sure nothing is quite so as spending all your working hours with sloppy drunks.

Max out your credit cards with cash advances and then fake your own death. Then take that seed money to buy supplies/weapons and live off the land in the angeles national forest.

If you want to play cards again it's only about an hour away!

Summer SAT Tutoring FTW

[/ QUOTE ]

Is there real money in this? How is it actually done? I've always been pretty ridic at standardized testing, but don't have any notion of how to explain how to do it, rather than 'know stuff.'

[/ QUOTE ]

At Kaplan and Princeton review type places I think they make about $15-20 and hour. You have to be a good teacher though since the interview they make you actually teach something in 5 or 10 minutes. Just go to the website and email under the recruitng section them telling them what you scored on your tests and if it's high enough they'll email back to try and set up an interview/teaching session.

Well, doing what YOU do doesn't work, as evidenced by the creation of a new thread along these lines every few months. Why NOT try what someone else has done or is doing?

Hell ya! I could see Cardo on Jeopardy!

Trebec: And your Final Jeopardy category is the Aubrey-Maturin series

Cardo: I bet it all! Ship it!

[/ QUOTE ]

Ana - my buddy just won ~$500k on "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader". I think you should do that. If that doesn't work out, grad school ftw?

Just skimmed the thread so maybe this was brought up, but how are you not in grad school? Not law school, which I think I remember you said you hated, but some Phd program or something. That seems like the place for you, plenty of misanthropic soul-searching intellectual types for you to chill with.
