Would you be willing to carry some hot oats a mile per day at 04:30 every day for 21 years?

You cant be drunk or wear socks, but you will get a million dollars up front - which i would consider a good trade off.

Hell ya! I could see Cardo on Jeopardy!

Trebec: And your Final Jeopardy category is the Aubrey-Maturin series

Cardo: I bet it all! Ship it!

LOL, didn't know he was into that. I got the first "book" from Audible btw. Barely started it tho.

I do love the idea of winning on a game show as the answer to a serious question, though.

Young (24), able-bodied. BA, University of Texas, 2004 - History. No criminal record, owns transportation, genius, probably the world's greatest casual conversationalist.

You should tutor arts majors and write term papers for trust fund babies. Initially, you should at least charge $20 or $25/hr, and you can raise this after you build up a reputation.

I've given this serious thought. The major problem is that I would have to write all of a given client's papers throughout the entire semester; I have a very distinctive writing style and it would be pretty obvious if I just took over for someone midstream.

I'm with the "get a skill and find a career" group. Do some reseach online. You've obviously got decent brains. If you took some more loans and did, e.g., a paralegal program, you'd be making 45-60k when you graduated. Hell, maybe an accounting degree or something.

I don't think you understand. To me, joining the permagrinder managerial white-collar class is death. It's a life I have no interest in. I'm avoiding this like the plague.

Why? Are you hopelessly destitute when you hit 25? How about 26?

There's no reason he needs a career at this point if he doesn't want one. If he's happy doing it, he doesn't need one his whole life. If he ever wants a family, he may change his priorities, but the whole "Get a degree, get a career, get married, and do it before you're 25" thing is [censored].

Wired magazine also had a feature about some guy who makes a good living being a medical research subject. I don't know anything about the publishing business or how hard it is to make money freelance writing articles and stuff but maybe thats an option too.
