Default SnG Icons: should I subscribe?

I was considering signing up with SnG Icons to work on my game, and thought I'd check out the forum. I was surprised to see considerable grumblings about the service some subscribers felt they were receiving.

Read the post entitled "No videos in ten days: disappointing site" in the Video Discussion section of the forum if you want to get a flavour. The thread was started in July but the most recent reply was Aug 21st, so it appears that some subscribers are still not happy.

I look again today to see pornographic spam all over the forum, which nobody has taken the time to remove. The 'ask a pro' section seems to receive very few responses, and the video output seems to be recently MTT coverage by FieryJustice (great I'm sure, but not STTs as you would expect from this site).

I'm now unsure whether to subscribe, and was just wondering if there are any current members here who could advise me one way or the other. I'm aware that Big Joe et. al. are some of the best SnG players in the world, so I could put up with a slightly below par service if the content was worthwhile.

Cheers

I don't know if he's accepting students, but you should probably just pay Bones a lot of money for coaching.

I think you can safely subscribe. The quality of the videos are very high and i have learned a ton from the site. I think I watched all the videos in a weeks time and now i have the same problem as some of the other members on the site: the lack of videos atm. But I am sure it will get better, and even if it doesn't it has still been a true bargain. I also think that if the site sucked, people wouldn't crave for new videos the way they do, the videos are really good.

Well it's not like videos made in July are outdated...

FYI I'm not a member.

No, just get TJ Cloutier's championship NL Hold'Em, only poker guidance you'll ever need.

ive had sngicons for several months now and im thoroughly disappointed. i learned almost nothing new from these guys. Bigjoes videos are good but he hardly ever makes any (he accounts for like 1/5 of the vids)
z32s vids arent very good. imo he pushes too wide in lots of spots and has a very low roi.
fierys sng videos are even LESS good. he just hasnt played sngs since party closed.
i think most of these guys crushed the party games and are still very good sng players, but i play with several who are MUCH better in my opinion.

ALSO, these guys simply dont know how to teach. You could pack in a lot more info on each video instead of talking about football games or saying 'yea so everything just really standard here...'
how about making up hypothetical situations whiel nothing is going on? Like while folding trash, you could state what your min requirement would be to play each hand from your current pos/stack and WHY. they almost never explain WHY they do stuff which is also criminal in my opinion.

on the other hand, im glad they arent doing a better job because the games are already tough enough and lazy teaching will slow down the general speed at which new players learn to play expertly...

in all honesty, i was good at sngs and didn't think i'd need to sign up, but after watching the cash and mtt videos, especially the mtts vids, im a much better player and can attribute several thousand dollars of cashes to the changes in my game brought about by watching z32s mtt videos.

seriously, it doesn't seem worth it, but it makes you so much better, not signing up is retarded.

Braminc is right. If you want to hear Big Joe talk on the phone to his mom for 20 minutes or z32 talk about how cool their house is, by all means sign up.
