Re: what am i illustrating here?
Simple, when you have the big stack in position.......

Re: what am i illustrating here?
Raise an amount that makes decisions later easier.
You demonstrated that by making larger than normal raises in some cases you have trivially easy calls against shoves. Additional, although not demonstrated here, one can make smaller than usual raises with hands he or she intends to fold to shoves (by not pricing oneself in). |

Re: what am i illustrating here?
i was trying to show really 2 things
1)being agressive first in more important 2) the importance of math and pot odds in decision making. I had the worst hand in all cases and knew it but win or lose it didn't matter it was correct to gamble |

I'm sorry, but if you're going to try to teach the forum something you need to bring more than this.

I'm sorry, but if you're going to try to teach the forum something you need to bring more than this. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, use like paragraphs and stuff with complete thoughts and analysis. Also these hands may fine or really bad but its impossible to say without reads. You need to have a plan of action for facing a 3bet/push for each player left to act and adjust your raise size for it. |

Re: what am i illustrating here?
#1 and #2 are fine, #3 is a bit spewy.
Short version: Some raise-calls look good, but some are bad given artificially correct pot odds with weak holdings. And, no, it isn't the raise size adjustment. A3o in MP1 turns to 84o really quickly given LP stack sizes and resteal ranges. You raise this, you should call 0 shoves, even if calling BB is only narrowly -EV given range and "correct pot odds". It's not noticeable spew until you lay your remaining stack vs. the other stacks on the table after you lose the hand. Raise, fold to shove, continue to exert aggression on the table. What I mean to say is, the raise size is not the point of contention and should be standard throughout. Slight adjustments for position are fine, but never for hand strength reasons. |

Re: what am i illustrating here?
Is what you're trying to point out that you should always call a shove getting 2:1? That's a pretty standard thing that tournament players know, and it's not always true.
