Default Pink Chip thoughts

Played the pink chip game at Trop (AC) today for the first time. I must say the action was very good. Probably averaged about 4 players per if there was a raise. Not a total donkfest as some players did have a clue, but close enough. However I feel it was only marginally juicier than a typical AC 10/20 game (obviously one session is not enough to say definitively) which is offset by being a slightly lower limit than 10/20 (I would expect my $/hour to be comparable). However the biggest problem was that the game broke at only 7:15. For someone looking to make a good $/hr the game is just not dependable enough during the week to justify passing up the Taj or Borg. As a side note I wish the Borg would spread 10/20 with pink chips, that would be heaven... *drool*

Some of the odder play I saw. One player twice raised AK preflop and then checked the flop, once HU on a T high flop and once 3way on a flop of AJT, nevermind the button checked behind with broadway!?? So of course I thought I was good with AQ from the BB... oops

One player was kind enough to repeatedly call preflop raises and flop bet/raises with low pocket pairs in order to hit his set on the turn/river. Some people are so nice :0)

My favorite though was the guy who kept insisting the odds of hitting a flush with two suited cards were 150:1. lol

If the Trop can manage to increase midlimit action in there new room I know I'll be there much more often. I would hope they forgo 10/20 for 15/30 to avoid canabalizing games. That would also give them tween limits that the other casinos don't have.

I agree that the pink chip game isn't worth it during the week because it isn't guaranteed to go and the 10 games at Taj and Bo are always good. Personally I'd rather see a 9-18 with a 2/3 blind structure than a 10-20 with pink chips. Neither of these will ever happen, these changes are typically only made when a game becomes consistently rocky and there is still plently of action at 10-20 despite the 2-4 chip structure.

That would be nice, however even less likely due to the retarded standization of chip colors in AC. Anyone know how easy it is to lobby casino control for new denominations? Did the Borg have to do this for the blue and yellow chips?

Yes, but the action at 20/40 is better (or I should say more cosistent), 10/20 can get very rocky at times during the week.

The blue and yellow chips are standard denominations. The yellows $20s are used in (AFAIK) every casino for baccarat. I haven't seen blue $10s used elsewhere anymore, but I think they were more popular in the past. Does anyone know any other AC casino that still has them?
