I don't even like rap but this is all reminiscent of the "Which punk rock band is really punk rock and which one isn't" argument I got involved with when I was 15 and cared about keeping track of that stuff.

It's all basically [censored] throwing and name dropping. With that said I'm downloading the linked files from the post above to see what this sounds like.

i'm pretty sure it is debatable, since you're . . . debating it, but i think it's gonna devolve into a commercial pop rap is crap vs backpack rap is for posers argument. i feel like weezy is a pretty crappy rapper, but he moves crowds and then some, so it's hard not to give him MC points. Saying he's lyrically talented seems like a bit of a stretch. More like he has a huge buzz right now and his beat production and collab projects all get major radio airplay.
