ryan,

wow dude, harsh. please find a new OOT morning mod, since you just fired the guy who was doing that.

db,

all,

wow, this blew up pretty big, and all without any el diablo! he must be off nailing a model in cabo or something.

FWIW I would like to see Yeti reinstated with just a warning. I think he has learned his lesson. I think he rubbed Ryan the wrong way with his acknowledgment that he was banning out of forum. That does not mean that I agree with the assani ban. If the main offense was having a counter in his signature I think the ban should be overturned. JMHO

- T God did not have anything in his avatar / loc that is censored by 2p2. Furthermore, if Jim felt it was inappropriate and wanted him to change it, the procedure that mods usually use in that scenario is to simply go in and change it, or ask the user to change it. There is no precedent for a ban there. Jim did not know this, nor did he know that the word 'dick' is permitted on 2p2, nor did he know how the location / avatar fields work. I still haven't seen him flat out admit that he made any kind of mistake, even though he clearly doesn't follow the discussions we have here about this kind of thing and, up until very recently, didn't even know some very basic things about how the site work, such as the [censored] filter or the location field.

I don't know what MOD boot camp you went to, but when I went green I got zero information...nada, zip, nothing. I get the feeling that's how it works the majority of the time.

Obviously, we need to make the effort to try to educate ourselves and ask questions. There were still very basic things I didn't know until I would get a PM from admin or another mod - for example - the information you put into the "reason for ban" box is sent by e-mail to the user and to the reds.

This reminds me, I'm guilty of not yet spending enough time on V-bulletin to get up to speed over there. When we do make the switch, it would be nice to have a sticky in the mod forum of "mod basics" which explains the every day mechanics of documentation, notifcations, bans, etc.

I'm not talking about mod rules or even guidelines, just a basic map for new mods of where to go to take normal daily actions.

All,

Been very busy and not really paying attention to this nonsense, but honestly, given all the crap that users and mods do here with no real punishment (read: horse porn), the fact that Yeti gets demodded over giving a 3-hr ban to some dude (and please note that I've already stated in this thread that I don't think Assani should have been punished, so it's not like I agree w/ Yeti's decision) seems pretty f'ed up.

I understand the rationale behind the decision, but that, along with some of the recent criticisms of NT and various other mod-related decisions that seem sorta f'ed up to me, make it clear that it's probably time for guys like Chump Change, tug, TT, and others to really take the lead in terms of moving 2+2 forward.

Let me know if you'd like to keep EDF w/ some new mods or roll it up into Lounge or OOT or whatever, I'll gladly help transition however you would like.

Peace & good luck

You're such a ridiculous self-promoting a-hole at least half the time, and that's being generous.

IMO, the purpose of this forum is to discuss miscellaneous mod issues and come together on them to better the forums; the concept of ModWars™ is a joke I have long propagated but which is ridiculous in theory.

Yet here you roll in with your huge e-peen and "final word" and basically take a conversation which had reached a consensus to a whole new ridiculous level by naming names and basically being a troll (ironic, eh?).

I don't envy the job that NT! has. I don't fault Jim Kuhn for what I feel was an honest mistake. I think I get along with everyone in this forum who lacks a self-promoting agenda. But you just can't help yourself, can you? Smell blood and you have to pounce. It's the goddamned internet man, stop being such a tool and try to work to better the site or GTFO and go be awesome somewhere else if this place is so repulsive to you. We're all replaceable. Particularly the trolls.

Assani's countdown thing is really pissing me off now too. Just have him cut the [censored] with that or have the SE mods edit it out of every post he makes.
