Default Bad form to ask to see this guys hand?

Really good game, big pot. I bet the turn, Player A raises, Player B cold calls, I muck. River goes bet, call.

Player B tables 2 pair, Player A shows his hands to the two players next to him and mucks. I ask the dealer "can I see the hand?" If he had just mucked I wouldn't have asked and I'm clearly just gathering information.

Out of line?

No. A guy shows his hand to his neighbors, it's not unusual for others to call the "show one, show all" rule into play. Just don't do it every time it happens.

Once he shows to others at the table, you are fine to ask to see the hand.

Today playing the $10-$150 at Casino AZ. Preflop raiser gets reraised $100 on an king high two flush flop. After much thought he reraises max, is called, bets $150 on the turn and his last $35 on the river. Other player after much debate ("I had so many outs") calls, PFR shows AKo, and then other player mucks.

PFR asks to see the hand, and dealer flips up 6d3d for a flopped flush and gutshot. Loser goes ballistic. Talks about how bad etiquette that is and that he's going to see every one of PFR's hands. PFR stoutley defends his right to see hand since he paid $500+ to see it. Entire table won't stop debating it for 10 minutes. Who was right?

That is very poor etiquette since he won the pot but technically it is within the rules if the casino allows it. I wouldn't make a habit of it though as karma has a way of biting back hard.

Actually river was a 6, so he had a pair and could beat a bluff and was getting laid infinity to one by the pot.
