25NL: 99 overpair versus 2p2\'er deep, spew?
I am fairly sure this hand was against a two-plus-two'er. His screenname on Everest was the same as his screenname on 2+2.
His stats were 15/13/10 over about 100 hands. Reads / Image: I saw him show down a suited connector on the button, he called a raise in position. He seems pretty solid. I am probably viewed as a TAG, I guess I ran about 20/18/4 and I kept isolating a fish to my right. I don't know if he knows that I'm a 2+2'er as well. Stack sizes: SB: $2.30 BB: $50.30 UTG (Hero): $64.66 MP: $25.40 CO (Villain): $61.30 BTN: $26.10 Hero UTG, dealt 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] SB posts blind $0.15, BB posts blind $0.25, Hero raises to $1.00, MP folds, Villain (CO) raises to $3.40, SB folds, BB folds, Hero calls. I think I have implied odds to call due to stack sizes (240BB). Flop (Pot = $7.20): 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero checks, CO bets $5, Hero raises to $12 Spew? I think he folds all AK combo's here, and JJ/TT. I don't think a bigger check/raise accomplishes much, am I correct? |

I don't think that he fold JJ/TT against this small raise. I raise 17$ or donk 5-6$. This play could be exploitable very fast.

Why would he fold JJ/TT? You think he's going to assume you have QQ+ just because you called a 3bet pre-flop?

I don't think he folds JJ-TT either. Obviously if he re raises you, than you are folding. Tricky spot OOP, I am not looking to go crazy on the turn or river if he just calls your raise. You took a stab at it on the flop, that was your best chance to take it down.

Re: 25NL: 99 overpair versus 2p2\'er deep, spew?
think in terms of maximizing value. Calling prelfop is fine I think you can play it two ways from there. keeping in mind villian is TAG and you raised UTG his 3 bet range is prob pretty narrow here.
You can just play for set value only which is good but leaves you check folding flop which is a little weak but prob better than a c/r. I think c/c is fine here cause you getting value from missed over cards and losing the min agianst better overpairs. the c/r just turns your hand into a bluff, no better hands fold and only hands your behind call. If he has a combo draw he def doest fold prob just pushes the flop. |
