raging fires in n.w. montana
fires are all around me where i live. though mostly still about 30 or 50 miles out they are filling the valley with smoke. also alot of the smoke is coming from giant fires in oregon and idaho.
boris take note. they have evacuated 20 miles from whitefish all of star meadows and soon good creek. seely lake is burning around it and has been evacuated. big fires around marion and thomson falls. rock creek near missoula has three fires and is in danger. near essex close to my river cabin a giant fire 20 miles long is burning going away to the indian reservation. that is the number one prority fire in the nation. many of the fires are doubling in size every day. its all around with no rain in sight. jason you got lots of smoke in missoula too, dont you. |

wow. makes me nostalgic for the old days.
just remember folks, fires wreak havoc in the near term but they are an essential part of the ecosystem. |

Re: raging fires in n.w. montana
yes mr. zee i wish i could offer you sanctuary from the smoke down here in the valley (like 2003) but no hope, we got it pretty bad too.
smells like a campfire all over and looks like one too, except with no smores. can't believe they had to evacuate the seeley lake area. no immediate danger to your homestead is there? keep me posted. J. |
