bump to update the saddest:

never thought i'd say it, but watching barry's final sf giants at bat live was the saddest moment so far. maybe cuz i've been such a loyal giants fan for as long as i have and he's been the face of the giants ever since i started, the "my way" tribute after the game was pretty sad too.

but then barry decided to be barry and negate all of that emotion by revillifying himself when he decided to be the only man on the roster not to come out onto the field after the game had finished for "fan appreciation night" leading to boos from the 40k in attendance.

Happiest: Tie between UofI coming from 15 down with 3:50 left to beat Arizona in OT in the '05 Elite 8 and Kentucky beating UofL this year

Saddest: Watching the Cubs collapse in the '03 NLCS after taking a 3-1 lead. I just really can't put into words how crushing this was.

Do people seriously think that was an illegal pass? Like... really seriously?

Greg Lewis SB TD costs me a $35k box pool win.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is why I don't make bets on anything involving the Eagles unless it is ONLY that the Eagles will win outright, with no spread. The Lewis touchdown was a happy moment, I would hate to ruin it by thinking, "oh, [censored], that just cost me a ton of money."

It's also why I don't look at my opponent's fantasy team until the Eagles game is over for the week, in case they're starting any Eagles.

Happiest:
#1 Germany beating Argentina 1-0 in the (soccer) World Cup Final 1990 by Andy Brehme's penalty.
#2 South Africa clinching the Rugby World Cup in 1995. Joel Stransky, thank you.
#3 My home soccer team Stuttgart winning the German championship in 1992. Started the last matchday as 3rd in the table, passed Dortmund and Frankfurt who both fumbled against underdogs.

Saddest:
None really, but this one was shocking
#1 Bayern Munich vs Manchester United in the Champion's League Final 1999. Bayern leading 1-0, dominating the whole game over 90 minutes, just to lose to two excellent extra-time goals from Man U.

Hahaha is that true? My god what a colossal prick he is. I will remember this story for the next time some meathead makes the retarded "media is out to make Barry look bad" argument.

I mean, think about how self-absorbed and narcissistic you have to be to pull [censored] like this on the only people who've kept supporting you through all the [censored] you've dumped on them.

It bears repeating: God what a colossal prick.

I'm not even a huge NY Giants fan but the SF playoff loss after being up 24 was pretty disgraceful and disheartening to watch.
