maybe she would care if you told her your name and the name of the company instead of just saying "xxxxxx" like oyu'r esome kind of secret spy

Wow, nice job, I didn't think it was possible to mangle "you're some" that badly while getting the rest of the post right.

LFS, I'm with you. This is why I can't stand recruiting off of the internet (referrals is far superior). There's nothing like calling someone on the phone who has posted their resume only to have them completely disengaged in the conversation. Random people tend to suck.

I've had a resume on my desk for two years because the "summary" portion says:

"I'd like to use my love of databasing at a company where databasing is a vital companent of the business."

[/ QUOTE ]

I hate this the most.

People do it in job interviews too, spooge allover what it is we do and fake like it's their life's calling to file and process contracts or something.

Just be honest and say you need a job. Christ.

Dids,

I know some recruiters who despise the objective in a resume and they will just remove it completely before they send it anywhere. It's useless fluffer anyway when you think about it, and all it can do is hurt you. Unless it specifically states the position they are interviewing for (which interest is implicit in the fact that they applied) it's dumb, and worse yet it's at the top of the resume.

Font size AND type change, right? Not to mention the sentence is pretty LOL.

The good news is, people like this do us all a favor by telling us right away that they suck, thus less time is wasted.

I'm going to be sales manager at our local TV station in less than a month, so I can't wait to report to this thread when I begin to hire. YES!
