I think the reason people expect party to be a goldmine is that they were always the most effective online poker site at targeting the donks with advertising.

I'd have to assume that all of these companies would start aggressively marketing in the US again. Yeah, there would be 2000 new 2p2 guys back on the sites, but there could be 50,000 donks that watch ESPN.

I'm not saying this will actually happen, but i think it's naive to think that because a couple thousand very good players get back onto a site means that it won't be significantly more profitable than online poker is now.

i dont think that regulation will result in a hefty increase in price (rake).

what is more likely, is that there'll be american sites out there which the US will endorse, and those ones will be taxed heavily. the tax doesnt affect the profit maximizing price though. with a marginal cost of next to zero, whatever pulls in the most money is the price point they want.
