Okay I've just found out that of the two friends I know offhand who have a 360, both of them had the rings of doom twice each. So failure rate is 200%.

I got one (with HDMI) about a month ago and got redringed after 8 days. I took it back to Best Buy and got another one. This one's been going fine for the past 3 weeks.

[/ QUOTE ] You must be mistaken, newer 360s have no quality problem. If you did you probably dropped it on the floor or burned it or froze it (electronics don't like the cold).
