Star on the top of a pokerstars avatar??

Any idea what a small star on the top of the circle of a Pokerstars avatar means? There's a guy at my table with one and he has no idea what it means either. Nobody at the table does. I checked his tourney history and he hasn't won anything so that's not it. He can chat too. I'm at a loss.

Did you take notes on him? I have not taken notes on anyone at Stars so I am just guessing.

No. If you have notes it shows a little N under the avatar.

edit, there is some way to play real money tables with it as well i believe

Interesting if it's play money. Why would Stars care if I know they're play money players?

So you are saying that the player came to the table through the .net side as opposed to the .com side?

I saw someone with one of those in a cash game. No-one, including her, knew what it meant.

i called tech. support as a play money player two years ago and was told the star above my avatar depicted play money player. I wondered because some players at the play money tables did not have one.
I have not noticed anyone with a star since i moved to the .com site. mine disappeared once i went to the .com site and downloaded the real money software. fwiw.
