5 rebuy pf spot vs. Roothlus
I was playing at a friends house so i dont have the HH, please excuse this...
Roothlus knows i respect his game, as i wished him gl when he joined our table. We have only played 2 pots against each other prior to this pot. They were 2 big coinflip type spots in the rebuy period, so im not sure how much this should matter. I was fortunate enough to win the 2nd leaving us close to even in chips. Onto the hand...2nd hour just started i have TT in the CO @75/150 with 12k stack, Roothlus covers by ~4k. Folded around to me I raise to 450 button folds sb folds Roothlus INSTA re-rs to 1500 Hero ??? This is probably pretty simple/standard but i felt like i was in a bad spot no matter what i did. Folding seems too weak in that if i am folding TT in LP to his BB resteals i will almost never be able to play back at him. If i just call surely i will be sometimes giving up when i have the best hand and i hate many flops. Also i do not think i have odds to draw to a set here, is this correct? 4 betting seems to let him play perfectly against me, although depending on how seriously he is taking this specific 5re it may be best... This option opened a whole new situation i was unsure of how to approach, if i 4 bet how much? If i 4 bet, am i committed to calling a shove? What would you guys do here and could you explain why? Thanks, sorry if this is messy |

pretty standard call here, be wary as he is not going to be light all that often here

[/ QUOTE ] We can call a c-bet on a low/ok flops and give up on the turn. These spots suck because I just don't think he has 99 here very often, if ever. |

I am calling and playing the flop. You may not like some flops, but with position, you can play this correctly.

[/ QUOTE ] This was how i felt at the table and using my gorilla math i somehow decided i didnt have set value and folded. I really appreciate the feedback so far, but i still had a question about pokerstove. I am trying to figure what is a reasonable range for roothlus here, how does this sound; AQo+, AJs+, KQs, 88+, and maybe some random stuff like 75s or T9s. Am i approaching this correctly? |

It just doesn't make any sense to re-raise, it makes him to correctly play with many hands. |
