but this doesn't disguise our hand, it tells our opponent we have a decent made hand (i.e one pair), we'd bet this card all day with air.

ah you're right

but dont the other 2 factors make checking and betting pretty close?

disagree, this is one of the very few spots where I feel fine with a B/F for value.

i dont like the flop check but given that I would say check back turn as well.

as played I think it's clear you hit your ace and so it's a fold seeing as his AF isn't high and from the game flow he's not expecting you to fold an A after he pushed you out of that 4bet pot earlier.
